About us

Corowa District Landcare is made up of a diverse group of volunteers, staff, members and partners working together for the health of our environment and farming landscape.

Corowa District Landcare is a community not-for-profit incorporated landcare group who have been active throughout the Federation Council region since 1996. We work with our community to carry out natural resource management and agriculture activities to improve the health and sustainability of our environment, farms and wider community.

Our broad range of members reflects the diversity of our community, which includes: farmers, urban residents, schools and other landcare groups across the region.

Improving the health of our agricultural systems, the environment and biodiversity in the region.

Corowa District Landcare’s mission is to empower our community to care for the local environment by providing opportunities and creating action. We strive to raise awareness and educate the local community about sustainable agriculture and natural resources.

Our work addresses natural resource management and agricultural issues, including climate change, soil degradation, native vegetation loss, pests and weeds, threatened species, and pasture and livestock health.

Where we work

We support and work closely with landholders, community members and groups who are engaging in landcare activities within the Federation Council region - an area of approximately 568,000 hectares. This includes, amongst others, Corowa, Lowesdale, Savernake, Mulwala, Howlong, Oaklands, Urana and Rand.
