Our sheep producer workshops empowers local farmers by helping them make effective management decisions to ensure they can continue farming sustainably.

Our sheep producer group has involved multiple workshops around sheep health, pasture management, data collection and analysis, lamb mortality, and drought decision making. We also run an annual Sheep Producers Information Evening.

Sustainable Livestock Production – Drought & Recovery Workshops

In partnership with Federation Council, with support from the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Program, Corowa District Landcare (CDL) delivered a series of workshops/sessions that cover topics and issues such as livestock management, ground cover, soil health, grazing management, increasing production, new technologies, improved planning, and prioritisation & biosecurity issues. In this project, land managers and farming families in the Federation Council Region have build knowledge and skills to implement sustainable agricultural practices and have learnt about new and emerging technologies that may contribute to the sustainability, productivity and resilience of their food and wool production in drought times and times following drought.

CDL delivered 5 workshops from January 2020 to December 2020.
